Le Wagon Tokyo launches a part-time Data Science bootcamp for working professionals and freelancers

After having launched its first full-time Data Science bootcamp in October, a global coding bootcamp Le Wagon announces the launch of a flexible part-time program to allow working professionals and freelancers to learn data science skills in 24 weeks.
Summary
The program is aimed at people who can’t commit to a full-time program but aspire to gain new skills and advance their professional career. In 24 intensive weeks, students will learn data science from Python to advanced Machine Learning, get all the skills to join a data science team and boost their career. They will finish the course knowing how to explore, clean and transform data into actionable insights and how to implement Machine Learning models from start to finish in a production environment, working in teams with the best-in-class tool belt.
Speaking on the launch of the new offering, Sylvain Pierre, Co-founder and CEO of Le Wagon Tokyo, said, “The ongoing global pandemic has caused some shifts in the industry, accelerating the demand for data science specialists. With the launch of this program, we are keen on helping people who are not able to quit their jobs or have personal obligations, upskill themselves and kickstart a new career in a flexible way.’

According to Sylvain, this new part-time Data Science bootcamp will also be an opportunity for working professionals to immediately bring new skills to their current job, and many startups and international companies in Tokyo are happy to support their employees’ development.

The part-time course utilizes the same tried-and-tested curriculum as a full-time 9-week, leveraging on Le Wagon’s learning platform. It is spread across evenings and some weekend days over 24 weeks.

The part-time Data Science bootcamp will run from Feb 20, 2021 to Jul 31, 2021. The course is taught in English.

Think like a Data Scientist

This Data Science bootcamp has been designed following the same approach that has made Le Wagon successful: a 24-week intensive program with 90% of practical exercises based on actual Data Science projects. It teaches all the needed skills to launch a Data Science project and ensure students’ employability after the program.
The bootcamp is split in five modules mixing theoretical knowledge, mastery of industry-standard tools, and hands-on exercises ranging from Data Science Foundations, to Machine Learning, Data Engineering, Deep Learning, and a staple of Le Wagon, Projects.
Knowledge in mathematics and programming is required to apply for this Data Science course. Applicants will have to go through a round of interview and a 40-hour preparatory work.
The curriculum will be delivered by a team of data analytics and data science professionals.

Coming out of the program, graduates will be able to join a data team as a junior data scientist, data analyst, or data engineer.

Applications for the first session in Tokyo are already open, and the first 24-week session will kick-off on February 20th, 2021.
